The Connections comic anthology, a Sunday Comix fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, is a forthcoming collection of comics about growth, renewal, and reinvention in the face of the losses and changes that we all experience. We are seeking self-contained comics (finished sequential art) of 1 to 10 pages on these themes; we will not shy away from stories dealing with darkness, as long as they are life-affirming. We also won’t shy away from humor, as long as it’s appropriate for this venue. Stories can be fiction or non-fiction. Please see the Submissions page for more information.
To submit a web comic strip for consideration to appear on this page, please see submission information on the Web Comic Strip Submission page.
Sunday Comix did its first fundraiser for AFSP in 2011, after the death by suicide of Ray Tomzcak’s nephew Steven. We collected comics from artists at the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE) and held a raffle to benefit AFSP. In 2013, following the death by suicide of Joe Reiff, a member of our group, we held another raffle at SPACE. We also wanted to do something more to honor the memories of Steven and Joe, so we have embarked on the creation of the Connections anthology.
